{"id":676,"date":"2026-01-20T19:30:00","date_gmt":"2026-01-20T10:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/primitivechristianitystudy.org\/?p=676"},"modified":"2026-02-01T23:06:30","modified_gmt":"2026-02-01T14:06:30","slug":"first-luke-%e2%91%a3%e3%80%80by-land","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/primitivechristianitystudy.org\/?p=676","title":{"rendered":"First Luke \u2463\u3000By Land"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/primitivechristianitystudy.org\/?p=673\" title=\"\">\u21d2\u65e5\u672c\u8a9e\u30da\u30fc\u30b8\u306f\u3053\u3061\u3089\u3092\u30af\u30ea\u30c3\u30af\u3057\u3066\u306d\uff01<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">And so, by a strange twist of fate, the four of them set out together on a one-night journey on foot\u2014<br>with one donkey carrying their heavy bags, and another small traveler, a kitten with a broken leg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Their destination was <strong>Capernaum<\/strong>, a large town by the inland Sea of Galilee.<br>They would have to cross the mountains, so it would not be an easy journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">For Luke, traveling with the talkative brothers Peter and Andrew was a perfect chance to learn a new language.<br>He never grew tired of asking them the names of everything he saw along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Peter was about five years older than Luke, but Andrew was the same age.<br>The songs the two brothers sang were songs Dina knew well, and she joined in, singing with them.<br>She enjoyed speaking and singing in Hebrew, and little by little her brightness returned.<br>Dressed in Jewish clothing, Dina looked like a Jewish woman no matter where she stood.<br>Luke watched his beautiful mother with a quiet sense of wonder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">A cool wind blew from distant Mount Hermon and felt good on their warm, tired bodies.<br>The injured kitten lay quietly in the basket Luke carried over his shoulder.<br>Along both sides of the narrow, well-worn path, hyacinths and daffodils were blooming.<br>There were also purple irises\u2014flowers Luke had never seen before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cHey, what kind of town is Nazareth?\u201d<br>Luke asked Andrew as they rested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Andrew grinned and replied,<br>\u201cOn the eastern hill of Nazareth, there\u2019s a <em>singer<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cA singer?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Peter joined the conversation.<br>\u201cA singer, yeah. A boy. The singer on the hill.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Luke still didn\u2019t understand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cHe\u2019s always singing. La-la-laaa,\u201d Andrew said.<br>\u201cBut sometimes he stops\u2014like this.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Andrew tilted his head back and stood still with his mouth open.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cHe\u2019s a carpenter\u2019s son,\u201d Peter added,<br>making motions as if filing wood.<br>\u201cTap-tap-tap, shhh-shhh-shhh.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Luke was more confused than ever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Then Peter looked at Dina with serious eyes and said,<br>\u201cHis mother is beautiful. Just like you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Dina smiled and asked gently,<br>\u201cThank you. And what is the name of that singing boy\u2019s mother?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cMary!\u201d<br>The two brothers answered together, loudly and at the same time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Mary!<br><em>That<\/em> Mary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Memories from Dina\u2019s childhood came flooding back.<br>Mary\u2014her dearest friend.<br>They used to meet every evening at the well in Nazareth.<br>They understood each other so well.<br>They talked and laughed endlessly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Mary was always singing.<br>She had a beautiful voice, and songs of praise to God were always on her lips.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">She was the one woman Dina thought she could never compare herself to.<br>Not because of beauty, but because of Mary\u2019s wisdom and deep love for God.<br>Even the boys who admired Dina treated Mary with special respect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cDoes Mary have other children too?\u201d Dina asked softly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cShe does,\u201d Andrew replied.<br>\u201cThree boys and two girls.
